Wall Street is now sending signals businesses and investors are conceding to no end in sight for the trade war, and indeed things may well get worse before they ever get better. Wall Street is closed on Monday night for the Memorial Day long weekend.

UK markets are also closed on Monday night, including LME base metal markets.

US data releases next week include house prices, pending home sales, trade, PCE inflation and consumer sentiment. Thursday brings a revision to the March quarter GDP result.

China will release trade data on Tuesday and May manufacturing and services PMIs on Friday.

Australia will see another piece of the March quarter GDP puzzle next week, in the form of private sector capex. Monthly data include building approvals and private sector credit.

On the local stock front, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare ((FPH)), Mesoblast ((MSB)) and Select Harvests ((SHV)) report earnings.

Galaxy Resources ((GXY)), Gold Road ((GOR)), Costa Group ((CGC)), FAR ltd ((FAR)) and Sundance Energy ((SEA)) hold AGMs.
