The Australian financial year ends on Friday, offering a further five days of potential volatility. It’s a time of year we’d usually see window-dressing from fund managers, but these days anything could happen.

There are no local economic releases of any note until Friday, when we see private sector credit.

It’s a bit busier in the US next week with house prices, pending home sales, trade and personal income & spending numbers due along with the Chicago Fed national index, Richmond Fed index and Chicago PMI. On Thursday the “final” revision of US March quarter GDP is due.

Beijing will release its official Chinese manufacturing and services PMIs on Friday.

On the local stock front, individual stock options expire on Thursday. Metcash ((MTS)) will release its FY17 result on Monday.

There’s quite a swathe of stocks going ex-dividend on Thursday, almost all property names and REITs along with Sydney Airport ((SYD)) and Transurban ((TCL)). That’s a lot of yield, and will impact on the index on the day.
