Wall Street will celebrate Washington’s birthday on Monday with a day off. After a five-day bounce off the bottom, profit-taking may be in order tonight ahead of the long weekend.
With Fed policy firmly in focus, the minutes of the last Fed meeting, due on Wednesday night, will be closely scrutinised. US data releases next week include existing home sales, leading economic indicators and a flash estimate of February manufacturing PMI.
Japan and the eurozone will also flash.
The Chinese New Year break continues into next week before a return to work on Thursday.
In Australia we’ll see the first constituents of the December quarter GDP result being released, in the form of construction work down and the wage price index.
