IPOs Increase Dramatically

The number of initial public offerings has surged in 2017 but market outperformance has waned. Read all the details here.

Initial public offerings (IPO) conducted on the Australian stock market in the year to June numbered 78, compared to 59 in the same period last year. The net return on those IPOs to end-June was 6.4% compared to 24.2% last year and 5.4% for the ASX200. Listings were dominated by the materials and financials sectors.

The biggest price movers since listing in the June quarter are gold and base metal explorer Alderan Resources ((AL8)), up 132.5%, medical cannabis researcher Cann Group ((CAN)), up 108.3%, and water treatment system manufacturer De.Mem ((DEM)), up 85%.
