Friday's edition of BoardRoomRadio's Afternoon Round Table turned into an exceptionally long display of expert market commentary, so be prepared: it's practically a double-long event. Usual host John Murray remained absent, but present were Austock's Michael "the Heff" Heffernan, Gerard Paynter from Ord Minnett, Simon Mcgrath from Bell Potter and your editor. Interim host, before leaving for a trip to Europe, was BRR's John Marlay.

Following a varied broader perspective on (another) underperformance put in by the Australian share market this week, a lot of time went into the reported results by three of the Big Four banks. Probably the most notable observation on Friday was that not everyone had picked up on the fact that an Australian dollar that moves up too high too quickly becomes a serious negative for the share market overall.
